Haiku for John Eager Howard

http-equiv="content-type">

There is a sort of down and out park dedicated to John Eager Howard,
between Monument and Druid Hill just east of Howard and a light rail
stop.  Few people linger there for long save for some rats who
have made a large warren there.  There is a statue of Howard
leading some troops.  They look like robots from a Flash Gordon
serial.  Anyway, this picture inspired the following haiku poem

Ode to a Brown Parking Meter

Ok...well the story so far is that the communte from DC to Alexandria
is a tad hard to take from Homewood and would be even worse from the
Promised Land, Rodger's Forge.  So it looks like we will
eventually have to migrate somewhere south to the idyllic suburbs of
Northern Virginia.  Sigh...good schools but no Hampdenfest....

Anyway, until then, rather than add more stuff to the blogosphere, I am
going to make a phog.  Or a photo blog.  Showing a picture (or pictures) a day of things mundane around our fair city.

And here is a poem to go with it.

Brown parking meter

Oh brown parking meter

Parking meter oh so brown

Most prized of all the meters.

Our Story So Far

I came to Baltimore back in 1996, when Real Estate was still cheap, really cheap, but I never figured that Baltimore would be a place where I would want to stay. Now nearly 10 years later, I really just want to sink down roots in "Charm City" aka "The City That Reads" aka "The Greatest City in America." But the whims of fortune may dictate otherwise. Job burdens and a long commute for my wife CB may take us down DC ways or even worse to northern VA. So this will chronicle that struggle and be my contribution to the bloggosphere.
